A true classic, this aperitif first appeared in print in 1916, and is now back with a vengeance .

    Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 oz gin
  • 1/2 oz maraschino liqueur
  • 2-3 dashes crème de violette
  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • maraschino cherry

    Preparation

  1. Combine the ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and shake .
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe .
  3. Garnish with a maraschino cherry .
