
Coffee Cocktail
Jerry Thomas immortalized this cocktail in the 1887 version of his Bartender’s Guide .
- 2 oz ruby port
- 2/3 oz cognac
- 1 bar spoon superfine sugar
- 1 small fresh raw egg
- fresh nutmeg
Ingredients
- Combine the ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and shake long and hard to emulsify the egg .
- Strain into a Port glass or a small goblet and garnish with fresh nutmeg .
