Malawian Kachasu

A traditional Malawian brew made from fermented maize.

    Ingredients

  • 5 liters of water
  • 1 kg of maize meal
  • 1 kg of sugar
  • Yeast
  • Flavorings (optional)

    Preparation

  1. Boil water and add maize meal to create a porridge.
  2. Once cooled, add sugar and yeast.
  3. Ferment for a few days before straining.
  4. Serve chilled.
