Mardi Gras Sazerac

A classic New Orleans cocktail that embodies the spirit of Mardi Gras.

    Ingredients

  • 2 oz rye whiskey
  • 1 sugar cube
  • 3 dashes Peychaud's bitters
  • Absinthe rinse
  • Lemon twist for garnish

    Preparation

  1. Rinse a chilled glass with absinthe and discard excess.
  2. In a separate glass, muddle the sugar cube with bitters.
  3. Add rye whiskey and stir with ice until chilled.
  4. Strain into the prepared glass and garnish with a lemon twist.
