The Little Death

Designed after returning from Mexico, this shot highlights the nuances of aged tequilas, using an orange and cinnamon chaser .

    Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces tequila
  • 1 orange
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon

    Preparation

  1. Pour the tequila into a shot glass and set it aside while you prepare the chaser.
  2. Cut off the end of the orange and then cut a ¾“-thick slice. Lay the slice flat on a cutting board and cut the skin off to create a perfect square with 90 degree angles.
  3. Cut the square diagonally into two triangle-shaped orange chasers.
  4. Pick up a small amount of ground cinnamon and place a mound on top of each chaser.
  5. Take your shot of tequila and follow with the chaser.
