Tokyo Fizz

A replenishing elixir that will keep you going for a long time .

    Ingredients

  • 1 ounce simple syrup
  • Stems of lemongrass
  • Sprig of fresh mint
  • 2 ounces Junmai sake
  • 3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 3 pinches of ground ginger
  • 1 1/2 ounce sparkling mineral water

    Preparation

  1. Make simple syrup by dissolving 1 part sugar in 1 part hot water. Store in the refrigerator and cool before continuing the recipe.
  2. Cut the lemongrass stem into small pieces
  3. place the pieces in a cocktail shaker glass
  4. and muddle hard
  5. pounding down on the lemongrass 15 times.
  6. Detach about 10 leaves from the mint sprig and toss them into the glass. Muddle a few times to release the mint flavor.
  7. Add the sake
  8. simple syrup
  9. lime juice
  10. and ground ginger to the glass.
  11. Add ice and shake vigorously for about 8 seconds. Strain into an ice-filled highball glass
  12. up to ¾ full.
  13. Float sparkling mineral water on top.
