Irish Coffee

A warm cocktail that is often topped with a layer of cream .

    Ingredients

  • 1 ounce Irish whiskey
  • 4 to 5 ounces hot coffee
  • 1 ounce heavy cream
  • Freshly grated nutmeg
  • for garnish

    Preparation

  1. In a small mug
  2. combine the whiskey and hot coffee
  3. and stir to combine.
  4. In a mixing cup
  5. whip the heavy cream using a small whisk or milk frother until it thickens slightly and is pourable.
  6. Slowly pour the cream over the back of a spoon onto the coffee to allow it to layer on top.
  7. Grate some nutmeg over the cream.
